OFFICIAL NOTICE OF TRANSITION: In Loving Memory of Mr. Dwight G. McDougal of Valdosta, Georgia.

With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life lived, the family of Mr. Dwight G. McDougal announces his transition from this life on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

He was born on April 9, 1954, Mr. McDougal’s journey spanned 71 years, 5 months, and 12 days. To know him was to experience his warmth, his steady presence, and his ability to make life’s moments meaningful.

Dwight Glenn McDougal was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He received his education through the Valdosta City School System and entered into the United States Military where he served in the United States Army. Dwight never met a stranger; he will be deeply missed.

Dwight was preceded in death by his Parents: Louise McDougal and Johnny Lee Jones Sr.; Brothers: L.C. McDougal and Johnny Jones Jr.; Sister: Ouiga McDougal and Wife: Sue Ellen McDougal.

He leaves a loving and devoted Daughter: April Louise McDougal; Grandson: Terrius McDougal; Great-Grandsons: Veshawn McDougal, William McDougal and Asa McDougal; Brother: Larry McDougal; Sisters: Marjorie Jones and Darlene Carter (Allen). Stepmother: Barbara Jones; Ex-Wife: Elaine Monnier; Bonus Children: Uganda Johnson and Maurice Brown; Nephews: Demetrius Jones, Larry McDougal Jr., Travis McDougal and DJ McDougal; Special Nephew who was his favorite maintenance man: Cedric Bell; Close Friend: Jerry Mac and his Sam's Barbeque Crew and Goddaughter: Tyquanda Hezekiah. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Though he has departed from our sight, his memory will remain a light in the hearts of all who were privileged to share in his story. His laughter, wisdom, and the love he poured into family and friends will continue to live on as a legacy of strength and care.

The McDougal family finds comfort in the many expressions of sympathy and support extended during this time.

Services will be held from Our Daily Bread Ministries - 715 Griffin Avenue, Valdosta, Ga.Pastor Aden P. Fluker Jr., Gracious Host - Pastor Bernard Robinson Sr., Officiating.

Though his earthly presence will be missed, his spirit remains a lasting gift to family and friends. May peace, strength, and comfort be with all who loved him.
