MR. WILLIAM SPENCER ICE, SR, son of the late Charles Howard Ice and the late Ocie Powell Ice, was born November 11, 1927 in Fairmont, West Virginia and departed this life September 16, 2025, in Emporia Rehabilitation and Health center, Emporia, Virginia.

He attended school in West Virginia and later enlisted into the U.S. Army on July 20, 1953, to June 8, 1955, as a Corporal and separated on September 6, 1961 from the reserves as a Private First Class (PFC).

William was married to the late Mary Elizabeth Weugner Ice Moyer and to this union three children were born. Two of whom preceded him in death- William Jr, and Dr. Michael Ice.

He was employed by the Social Security Office in Maryland as a computer operator for many years until his retirement. While there he met and married the late Minister Alma Baskerville Ice. They later moved to South Hill, Virginia to make it their home. They were members of Gethsemane Baptist Church and he attended faithfully until his health began to decline.

William leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter- Darlene Dittrich of Glen Burnie, MD; grandchild- Raymond Dittrich; four great-grandchildren, James, Emily, Amber, and Franklin Dittrich; two great-great-grandchildren, Liam and James Dittrich, and a host of other relatives and friends.
