Mr. Xkyayk Smith

Mr. Xkyayk Smith, 51, of Gadsden, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 24,2025.

He is survived by his loving family.

Mr. Xkyayk Smith, affectionately called XK, was born on May 29, 1974, to Mr. Clinton Smith and Barbara Cook. He was educated in the Gadsden City School System, graduating from Emma Sansom High School, class of 1992.

He loved working, detailing cars in particular. He played football at Emma Sansom while in school and was an Alabama fan. He loved being around people, his personality drawing many people in. He was just as unique as his name, which fit him perfectly and made a statement all by itself.

He was preceded in death by his father Clinton Smith; stepfather Byron Cook; and brother David Mostella.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother Barbara Cook; siblings Kayla Cook Haley of Gadsden, AL., Kenneth Smith of Gadsden, AL., and Walter (Cynthia) Smith of Gadsden, AL.; aunts Louise Golson, Deborah Adams, Ekra Tolbert, Jackie Penny, Millie Mostella and Dolly Thomas; niece Morgan Childs and nephews Terrell Malone and Britton Childs V; special friends Sherrell Timmons, Randy Powel, Ron Darcy and a special cousin Kevin Calhoun; along with a host of other relatives, family and friends.

Public Visitation will be held from 12pm-6pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at West Gadsden Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at United Christian Church.
