Funeral service for Essie Maddox, 92, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel, Brother Willie Whack will officiate.

Mrs. Maddox, who passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born September 18, 1933 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Marlena Maddox and Selena Maddox Robinson both of Opelika, AL; eleven grandchildren, Trina Dowdell, Anthony Maddox both of Opelika, AL, Sharvario Maddox (Carlene) Dickerson of Auburn, AL, Timmesia Maddox (Andre) Thomas, Torrance Maddox, Martell Maddox both of Opelika, AL, Andrea Maddox of Lafayette, AL, Mia Robinson of Auburn, AL, Malena Robinson of Opelika, AL, Malcolm Robinson of LaGrange, GA and Mikel Robinson of Opelika, AL; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Mae Williamson of Faraway, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
