Christopher Lamont Irby entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Bon SecourRegional Memorial Hospital in Richmond, VA. He was born July 22, 1976 to Cecelia Royster Irby and the late Percy Carl Irby, Jr.
Chris was educated in the public schools of Mecklenburg County and graduated from Bluestone Senior High School in 1994. He tested the waters in the work world but nothing seemed to suit him. He decided to attend truck driving school and found his calling. Chris worked for several trucking companies and finally landed his dream job with UPS. He received several awards for his driving skills and safety.
Confessing his faith in Christ at an early age, he was baptized and joined St. Luke Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. Being the boy that he was, his mother often took him by the hand and led him into church until Chris got the message!
Chris was united in holy matrimony to his dream girl,and true love on November 12, 2013.
Cherishing his memory are his loving wife Naomi, five children, Desaree, Desmond, Andrew, Jaden and Christen of Henrico, VA; his mother Cecelia R Irby of Chase City, VA; one brother Daryl M. Irby, Sr. of Chesterfield, VA; mother-in-law Mrs. Harriet Thweatt; three sisters-in-law April, Latoya and Nicole Thweatt;of Richmond, VA; one uncle, John C. Royster (Wanda) of Chase City, VA; six aunts Robin Peatross (Randy) of Richmond, VA; Dr. Laura Royster of Detroit, MI, Hazel R. Robertson of Skipwith, VA, Joann Royster (Linwood) of Chase City, VA, Deborah Howard (Marcus) of Williamsburg, VA and Theresa R.Stephens of Fredericksburg VA; five nieces DevenCarter (Tyreek) of Chesterfield, VA; Aaryn and Ava Coleman, Nyla and Nijae Thweatt of Henrico, VA; three nephews Darwin L. Irby of San Francisco, CA; Daryl M. Irby, Jr. (Leticia) of Petersburg, VA; and Nikei Thweatt of Henrico, VA; one great niece and nephew Emory and King lrby of Petersburg, VA; Many loving and caring cousins, a world of lifelong friends,along with his UPS family.
Visitation for Mr. Christopher Lamont Irby will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Carter's Funeral Home, 206 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA from 2:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the St. Luke Baptist Church; 2676 Middle School Road; Skipwith, VA 23928. There will be a two hour visitation on Monday, September 29, 2025 beginning at 11:00AM. Service will then take place at 1:00PM.
