Gene V. Spiller, Sr., “Geno," was born on July 2, 1962, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Eugene Lewis and Jerline Spiller. He graduated from Blytheville High School in 1980 and continued his education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Subsequently, Geno chose to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. He truly loved and adored his children and grandchildren, always providing their needs, and rarely saying no to their wants.
Gene was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lewis, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Weaver, and his maternal grandparents, Johni and Captoria Spiller, and a brother, Kimmie Spiller. On Friday, September 26, 2025, “Geno” peacefully departed this life at his home in Blytheville, at the age of 63.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jerline Spiller of Blytheville, Arkansas; two sons, Gene V. Spiller, Jr. and Gevontae V. Spiller both of Las Vegas, Nevada, three daughters, LaTerrica Hoy of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Brionna Hoy and Shateka Mathis both of Blytheville, Arkansas; the love of his life, Jeanette Hoy of Blytheville, Arkansas; four sisters, Karen Spiller of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Daphnie Spiller-Fair (Billy), Rosla Spiller, and Nina Spiller all of Blytheville, Arkansas, other siblings; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 4:00 pm in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery, Blytheville, Arkansas.
