Arnette S. Dillard

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Arnette Stockton Dillard who entered eternal rest to be with her Savior on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 22, 1944, in Martinsville, VA to the late Elder Early Stockton and Mattie Jamison Stockton.

In addition to her parents, Arnette was preceded in death by her loving & devoted husband, Bobby Levon Dillard; one son, Victor Levon Dillard, and two brothers, Elder Arthur Stockton and Moses Stockton and his wife, Cledith Stockton.

Arnette and her husband, Bobby, were married on December 14, 1963, celebrating almost 62 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who poured her heart into her family. She celebrated their accomplishments, shared stories that made her beam with pride, and found happiness in every hug, laugh, and moments together.

Arnette joined the Rock Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Martinsville, VA on the 2ND Sunday in April 1991 and was baptized on the 3RD Sunday in May of 1991. She served as Assistant Clerk for over 20 years and later became the Head Clerk. She retired from Dupont after 27 years of service. She was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School class of 1963. Arnette was a member of the Laurel Park Booster's Club.

Arnette leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience through her two daughters, Sandra D. Dillard of Greensboro, NC and Torsheda D. Ransom and her husband, Dr. Kirby Ransom of Wake Forest, NC; daughter-in-law, Karen J. Dillard of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren, Kirby Ransom, Jr., Karter Ransom and Karson Ransom all of wake Forest, NC, Victor Dillard, II of Forney, TX and Kiana D. Foddrell of Greensboro, NC; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wynetta Dixon and her husband, Larry of Dry Fork, VA and Novella Hairston of Richmond, VA; one brother, Dana O. Stockton of Richmond, VA; one sister-in-law, Lillian Stockton of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 12 noon with the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at The Spirit of Christ Worship Center, 4250 Chatham Rd., Martinsville with Elder Percy Stockton, Eulogist. Interment will follow at the Rock Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 445 Stockton Rd., Martinsville.
