Marigold Green Chavis of Martinsville, VA passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke VA. She was born on June 29, 1948 to the late Jodie Green and Elise Winborne Green. Marigold is predeceased in death by her husband Charles Chavis, sister Ida Juanita Green and step-son Shervin Perry.

She retired from Monograms Foods. She had a passion for reading anything including the encyclopedia and loved playing board games.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons Donnie Chavis (Rhonda) of Denver Colorado, Charles Chavis (Janice) of Martinsville, VA; one daughter Doneice Chavis-Woods (Christopher) of Highland Park MI; one brother, John Jodie Green; two sisters, Dora Sharp and Carolyn Jones; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette Street, Martinsville, with Elder Earnest D. Long, Eulogist. The interment will be private.
