BUNKIE – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Amazon Kingdom Focused Church in Bunkie, LA for Mr. John Wesley Lewis, 65, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Health System in Alexandria, LA. Interment will be in First St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery in Bunkie, LA.

Rev. Dexter Compton will be officiating the funeral service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Mrs. Connie Lee Lewis of Cottonport, LA; two stepdaughters, Taraneshia Gray of Marksville, LA and Shanique Lee of Baton Rouge, LA; and two stepsons whom he proudly raised, Deion Lee of Cottonport, LA and Keion Lee of Katy, TX.

John was a devoted grandfather to Serenity Gray, Jayceon Gray, Kamari Moore and Jabari Gray.

He also leaves to remember him fondly: one sister, Kimberly Lewis of Bunkie, LA; one niece, Keri Lewis of Houston, TX; one nephew, John Wesley Lewis of Houston, TX; two aunts, Diana Sheppard and Eola Hobbs, both of Bunkie, LA; and two uncles, Melvin Lewis of Houston, TX and McKinley Lewis of Chula Vista, CA.

He also leaves two Godchildren, Serenity Gray and Jon Niyah Mansfield, along with a host of extended family and devoted friends who will forever hold dear the warmth of his love, his infectious laughter, and the light he brought into every heart he touched.

He is preceded in death by: his father, Henry J. Johnson and mother, Robena L. Donnette; maternal and paternal grandparents; mother-in-law, Rose Roy; father-in-law, Robert Gray; and three aunts, Shirley Williams, Francis Lewis and Maxine Russel.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Amazon Kingdom Focused Church.
