On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Frances Tinsley, of Axton, VA, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at SOVAH Health-Martinsville. She was born in Eden, NC on April 20, 1953, to the late Allen C. Tinsley, Sr. and Sarah Alice Wade Tinsley.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Lucy Maude Tinsley Giles and two brothers, Henry Tinsley and Allen C. Tinsley, Jr.
Frances was a member of Jerusalem Free Deliverance Church where she was a member of the Choir and served on the Usher Board. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Frances attended G.W. Carver High School, Fieldale, VA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister-in-law, Laura Tinsley of Axton, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Bishop James R. Perkins, Eulogist. Interment will follow at the Wade Family Cemetery, Irisburg Rd., Axton, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her sister-in-law, Laura Tinsley, 1144 Martin Ln., Axton, VA between the hours of 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
