Mrs. Mattie Ella Jones “Babydoll” Morgan, of Darisaw Circle, Louisville, Georgia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2025. She was born on November 8, 1925, to the late Eliza Johnson Jones and Willie Jones, Sr., She was blessed to live a long, beautiful life of 99 years and 11 months filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the Gordon Grove Baptist Church located at 1080 Belmont Road, Louisville, Georgia, 30434 with her pastor, Rev. Walter Holmes, Officiating.

Interment will follow at the Gordon Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.

Mrs. Morgan was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering dedication. As a devoted wife to the late Mr. Phillip Morgan, Sr., and a loving mother to their children, she took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She was truly the matriarch of her family—a guiding light whose wisdom and love will continue to inspire generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Phillip Morgan, Sr.; her son, Willie Lee Morgan; her siblings, Margaret Jones, Cleo Davis, Essie Bingham, Julie River, Samuel Johnson, Jorden Johnson, John Wesley Jones, and Willie Jones; grandchildren, Sammie Lee Burton and Demetria Kelly; sisters-in-law, Margret Johnson and Eva Jones; and son-in-law, Willie Burton, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her sons: Don (Annie) Morgan and Phillip Morgan, both of Louisville, Georgia, and Earl (Judy) Morgan of Waynesboro, Georgia; daughters: Frances Morgan, Annie Burton, and her goddaughter, Eunice Devero, all of Louisville, Georgia; and one sister, Frances Young of New York.

Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren: Willie Burton Jr., Regina Burton, Christopher Morgan, Sylvia Morgan, Duran Stone, Annie Morgan, Wanda (Terrance) Gibbons, Shawn (Dwayne) Lane, Natasha Holmes, Chrishayla (Demetrius) Howard, LaTasha Williams, Tameka Brown, and Sharika (Ricky) Telfair; great-grandchildren: Jonathan Burton, Samtavious Burton, Kadarrius Burton, Amiya Morgan, Malik Morgan, Messiah Heggs, Duran Stone Jr., Emery Stone, Zaya Kendrick, Amarie Howard, Brandi Reeves, Karlie Telfair, Ryan Phillips, Morgan Kelluem, Kristia Roberts, Spencer Elms, London Kelly, Jaquraus Morgan, DeAundre Morgan, Doeonte Morgan, DeKerria Jackson, Kaleb Loyd, and Makayla Loyd; great-great grandchildren: Karter Burton and K’leyn Daniel. She also held a special place in her heart for those she affectionately called “her favorite two boys,” Rev. Walter Holmes and Howard Johnson.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Duran Stone, Kadarrius Burton, Samtavious Burton, Jonathan Burton, Christopher Morgan, Malik Morgan and Dwayne Johnson.

The officers of Gordon Grove Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
