She walked this earth for a hundred and one, her journey long, her work well done. With steady hands and hearts so kind, she left her love for all mankind.

Mattie Bell Greene, age 101, of Oakville Road, Macon, North Carolina departed this life on Friday, October 10, 2025 at her residence.

The Celebration Of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 1:00PM in the sanctuary of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, North Carolina. The Reverend Mark Jones will officiate, and Reverend Charles Walton will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Left to honor her memory and continue her legacy are her children, William Allen Greene and Regina Greene Thomas; four grandchildren: Clay Thomas (Christina), Jessica Brugos (Todd), Sean Greene, and Charles Wetherell (Erica);four great-grandchildren: Logan Brugos, Aiden Thomas, Sydney Bell Brugos, and William Pettis Thomas; one sister, Elizabeth Greene; one brother, Richard H. Greene (Ann);and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Mattie may be viewed on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm in the chapel of Boyd & Royster Funeral Services in Warrenton, NC.
