He is survived by his two sons, Dante Berry, New Bern and William Berry III, Washington, DC; one daughter, Shadonna Berry, Jacksonville, NC; Lewis Berry, Darnell Berry both of New Bern, Calvin Berry, Raleigh, NC and Edward Jackson, Henderson, NC; sisters, Pearlie Berry, New Bern, Paula Washington, Little Rock, AK, Shirley Berry and Odessa Hopson both of Fayetteville, NC and Mary Bryant, Raleigh, NC and loving grandchildren.
