Debra Ann “Debbie” Konyha Maze
December 19,1955- October 12,2025
Bowie- Debbie was born on December 19, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to Victor and Lillie Konyha. She grew up in Hurst along with her two brothers and one sister. She was a favorite in school and loved cheerleading.
She married her high school sweetheart, Randy Ray Maze on December 15,1973. Shortly after marriage they departed to Alaska where Randy had been stationed with the Air Force. But that didn't last long as Debbie was not a fan of the extreme cold, and they returned home. She had two daughters, Amy and Candace, and was an amazing mother.
Debbie started carrying mail in 1983 and quickly became everyone's favorite mail carrier. She was loved by everyone on her route and always made sure to have milk bones for the dogs. She retired in the summer of 2004 after 21 years of dedicated service.
After retirement her dream home was built in Bowie, and she spent her days perfecting her garden...if you couldn't find her just go look in the dirt. Her garden was her pride and joy and simply magical. She had a love for all animals, especially her donkeys. Debbie enjoyed shopping for antiques, sewing, decorating for holidays (especially for Halloween and Christmas) and she loved all her grandbabies.
Debbie battled cancer for the last 5 years and fought till the very end. She was surrounded by those who loved her in her final days and passed peacefully.
To know her was to love her.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Randy Maze. Daughters, Amy Nutt and her husband, Jason, Candace Claus and her husband, Chad. Mother, Lillie McMenamy. Sister, Kim Kevlin and her husband, Pat. Brother, Victor Konyha. Grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Courtland and Callie Ann. Two great grandchildren, Tatum and Kodi; and numerous nephews and nieces.
