Mrs. Katherine “Kat” Bluford Martin, age 86, earned her Heavenly Wings on October 18, 2025; surrounded by her family.

Born on December 06, 1939; Katherine was born and raised in Laurens County. She was a dedicated employee of the Southside Daycare center until retirement and was affiliated with the St. Luke Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

Those that will carry on her legacy and love are her husband of over 56 years, Thomas Martin of the home; her daughters: Brenda Lee Simpson and Jessica D. Martin and sons: Thomas A. Martin and Virgil L. Martin; grandchildren: Tammara ( Ryan) Oyencin , Tierra Hall, and ; and Derrell Coleman; and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held Wednesday October 22, 2025 in the Childs Funeral Home Chapel.

The family is greatful for all the love and support they have received during this dark hour.
