Richard Grant Ford, the son of the late Jean Potter Ford and the late James Henry Ford, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He received his education in the Harrisburg Public School System. He was smart and had an excellent memory. He was very thankful and always asking for prayer. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling, viewing car shows, walking, good food and laughing. He received Jesus as his personal Savior.
On September 11, 2025 at the age of 70 years, Richard Grant Ford, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life with Jesus.
Richard is survived by his ex-wife, Loris Lawson; his brother, Edsel Clifton Ford of Erie, Pennsylvania; his sisters, Iris Ford, Ingrid Matthews and Barbara Waller, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his nephew, James Matthews, Jr.; his nieces, Collette Matthews, Olivia Matthews and Juliet Matthews; his cousins, Daniel Elby, Michael Elby, Dee Bowers, Kirk Smallwood, Garth Smallwood, Aaron Johnson, Gina Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
His life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
