Ms. Vivian O'Neal was born on September 13, 1957, in Barnesville Lamar County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Roy O'Neal and Mrs. Clydie Maude Goggins O'Neal.
She received her education in the Lamar County School System, attending the Booker School. At an early age, Vivian accepted Christ and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully until her health began to decline.
Throughout her life, Vivian faced many health challenges, yet she met each one with faith, strength, and courage. By God's grace, she overcame many of those challenges and was blessed to enjoy 68 years of life surrounded by her family and friends.
She was blessed with two sons. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and several siblings.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Mr. DeWayne (Abena) Thornton of Barnesville and Mr. Byron Hosley; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jatajh Thornton, Jaylyn Thornton, Elijah Hightower, Keon Thornton, and Aliyah Thornton; three sisters, Ms. Clara Mae Walton and Ms. Clementine Morgan, both of Barnesville, and Ms. Linda Gayle O'Neal of Griffin; a sister-in-law, Ms. Christine O'Neal of Barnesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“Blesses are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.”
