Willie Lee Johnson, Jr. was born on April 28, 1950 to the proud parents of Willie Johnson, Sr. and Nadine Rhines Johnson in Henry County, Alabama.

At an early age, Willie joined and attended Little Rocky Mt. FWB Church in Tumbleton, AL. He also was a graduate of the Class of 1968 in which he received high academic honors from Northside High School in Headland, AL.

After graduation, he left the southern state of Alabama and traveled to Newark, NJ where he met and married Annie L. Williams and with this union, three children were born. Willie enlisted in the military in 1981 where he served his country for eight years. He received an honorable discharge. He continued his skillset of driving trucks for 22 years in which he highly loved.

He had a love for old classic cars and had obtained a few throughout his years. He would also frequently visit the casinos for a spin of the slots. Willie also had a love for collecting brass figurines and polish them to keep their beauty. He always had a quick comeback and a joke to tell!

On Friday, February 28, 2025, The Lord called home a son, a brother, a nephew, a grandfather, and a great grandfather. Willie made it to a graceful age of 74 years old. He had a long battle with chronic illness of kidney failure. He passed away at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Nadine Johnson, Sr, and his wife, Annie L. Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Five children, Marcellus L. Johnson, Washington State; Tarsha Nadine Johnson and Marsha Monique (Willie Robinson, Jr.) Johnson both of Newark, NJ; Stacy Lee (Lee Clay) Johnson, Paulding, OH and Jessie L. Ellison, Dothan, AL; two brothers, a faithful brother, James Johnson, Dothan, AL and Lynwood Rhines, Winterville, NC; two sisters, Willie Ruth Berry and Sybil Turner both of Dothan, AL; a devoted son-in-law Willie Robinson, Jr. and son-in-law Lee Clay; a loving significant other Denise Johnson of Winter Haven, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE WAS HELD ON SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2025 AT 11:00 A.M. AT ROCKY MOUNT FWB CHURCH, TUMBLETON, AL. INTERMENT WAS AT ROCKY MOUNT CHURCH CEMETERY FOLLOWING THE SERVICE. REPAST WAS HELD AT ROCKY MOUNT FWB CHURCH'S FELLOWSHIP HALL.
