With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Charles Jerome "Rome" Duncan, who transitioned from this life on January 2, 2025. Rome was born on March 31, 1988 to Gloria Ann Duncan and Charles Lee Brooks. He attended Dale County High School and Southern States Trucking School. Rome was employed as a truck driver at Ruan Transportation in Marianna, Florida.

Rome was an avid fan of wrestling, possessing an amazing ability to recall matches and winners. He also was a superhero enthusiast, enjoying Marvel and DC comics. Rome had a love of music, even expressing his creativity through writing and performing rap, releasing an album called Outsider Music. But above all, Rome will be remembered for his magnetic personality, his infectious smile, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was always the one to check in on family and friends, offering support, encouragement, and care whenever needed.

Rome’s faith offered him strength and comfort throughout his journey. He approached life with kindness, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the love and connection he shared with others.

Charles is preceded in death by his loving mother, Gloria Ann Duncan; his father, Charles Lee Brooks; grandmothers, Myrtle Lowe and China Brooks and his cousin, Derrick Morris.

He leaves behind his wife, Amy O'Barr, her daughter, Abigail Caudle; siblings, Brandon Duncan, Anthony (Stephanie) Duncan, Victoria (Raymone) Thomas, Tony Reeves, Terrenie (Tori) Reeves, Antewon (Brittany) May, Jason (Sherri) May, Jazzilyn Walker, Jakia McKnight, Markee McKnight, Brittany (Ontriel) Adams, Lacaitlin Warren, Jazz Mitchell and best friend, Corey Bigbie; aunts, Francis Crews, Maevine Morris, Jennie Lowe, Mary Brooks, Liza Brooks and Carolyn Brooks as well as a host of treasured uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
