Tawanda Marie Huff Patterson

10/20/1972 - 10/16/2025

Tawanda Marie Huff Patterson, born on October 20, 1972, in Youngstown, Ohio, transcended into eternity on October 16, 2025, just four days shy of her 53rd birthday, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and indomitable spirit. Tawanda, a vibrant soul, was more than just a nursing assistant with Always Best Care; she was the essence of every gathering, the life of every party, and the spark that ignited joy wherever she went. She attended South High School and was a proud warrior.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished daughter, Tawanda thrived on the love of her family. She was a devoted mother to her son, Jason Howell Jr., and her daughter, Tiazia Huff-Thomas. Her grandchildren- Jaidev, Chanel, Carmello, were her very heartbeat. The laughter of her family filled her life with meaning, and she was adored by her mother, Ruthie Huff; sister, Stacey Huff-Moore; and brother, Byron Simpson, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Tawanda was an outspoken and colorful spirit, known for her love of old-school music and the infectious rhythm of life. With a flair for fashion that would make any diva proud, she often dressed to the nines, especially for special occasions, embodying an exuberance that always shone as brightly as her favorite color: pink. Her joyful passion for dancing and traveling painted her life with memories as colorful as her wardrobe.

Faith was paramount in Tawanda’s life, and she attended Christ Centered Church. Tawanda delighted in the company of her canine companion, Drake, who was always by her side, sharing in both quiet moments and grand adventures. A true Pittsburgh Steelers fan at heart, she wore her team’s colors with pride, her laughter echoing even louder during game days.

As Tawanda answered the summons to her heavenly home, she was reunited with her father Donnell Simpson who preceded her in death. Although Tawanda may have departed from our sight, but her radiant spirit will forever live in our hearts.

As we gather to celebrate Tawanda’s vibrant life, let us remember her infectious laughter, her love for family, and the joy she brought to all who had the privilege to know her. To honor her memory, a public viewing will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 PM at Christ Center Church, also known as Tri C., 3300 Hudson Ave in Youngstown, Bishop Kenneth Paramore will preside as the celebrant.
