Deacon Robert Lewis Jackson Sr. was born on December 23, 1956, in Bartow, Georgia, to the late Burnice Jackson Sr. and Elizabeth Jackson Passmore. On October 24, 2025, he peacefully transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Spears Grove Baptist Church. 4250 Coleman Chapel Road, Wadley, GA. Interment will be held in the Spears Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, October 31, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.
At an early age, Robert joined Spears Grove Baptist Church, where he later was ordained as a Deacon. He served faithfully in his calling and was a dedicated member of the Male Choir until his health began to decline.
Robert was employed for many years with J.A. Long Road Construction and the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind spirit, and love for life. Robert enjoyed watching all types of sports, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Burnice Jackson Sr.; mother, Elizabeth Jackson Passmore; siblings Ed Willie Passmore, Leon Jackson, Burnice Jackson Jr., Otis Jackson, Jay Jackson, and Georgia Dell Dove; and his beloved mother-in-law, Ruby Bass Gamble.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Ethel Jackson; his children Ronnie Jackson, Robert Jackson Jr., Kishimia Boatwright, and Iesha Poole; eleven grandchildren Khadijah Kitchen, Kierra Kitchen, Robert Jackson III, Jordan Jackson, Bryson Washington, Khole Whigham, Kensley Danford, Natalie Robinson, Alexus Boatwright, Kamille Dudley, and Kairo Dudley; and nine great-grandchildren Mariah Bobbitt, Khanali Ward, Drake Ward, Karlie Ward, Brycen Hilton, Khalani Gilmore, Zori Gilmore, Alex Boatwright and Casey Anthony.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Dora (Charles) Gilmore,  Betty McKennie, Courtney Thomas, Deborah May, Mary May, Martha May, Addie Lee Jackson, Hazel Passmore, Carlyon Jackson, and Doris Swinney; brothers-in-law Jimmy (Judy Ann) Bass, Robert Gamble, Frankie Bass, Willie Thomas, Karl (Dietre) May, and the late Tom (Ruby) May; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
