Funeral service for Harvey Torbert, 74, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Friday, October 31, 2025, at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 390 Lee Road 190, Auburn, AL 36830 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Roland Austin will officiate.

Mr. Torbert, who passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, was born October 25, 1951, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The family will be present to receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Torbert will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Rosie Torbert of Opelika, AL; two children, Monica (Keith) Holifield and Tamekia Torbert both of Opelika, AL; one grandson, Hamilton Holifield of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Lizzie Jean Ford of Cleveland, OH and Gladys Reese of Flint, MI; three sisters-in-law, Ezella Torbert, Annie Torbert both of Opelika, AL and Darlean Torbert of Flint, MI; a host of special nieces; special nephews, cousins, Green Chapel Church family and many friends.
