The late Sandra E. Thomas Adkins, daughter of the late Isaac Thomas, Sr. and Pinkie Thomas, was born on September 16, 1946, in Brooks County, Georgia.
Sandra accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Brooks County School System and was a proud graduate of Washington Street High School, Class of 1965.
After graduation, Sandra moved to Florida for a few years before making Atlanta, Georgia, her home. There, she was employed with Fisher Scientific Company, where she held various positions, including that of Accounts Payable Clerk. She was united in marriage to the late Henry Adkins, and together they shared many wonderful years. Sandra resided in Atlanta for over 40 years before retiring and returning to her hometown of Dixie, Georgia.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Isaac Sr. and Pinkie Thomas; and her brothers, Isaac Thomas, Jr., Alvin Thomas, Sr., and Eddie James Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: four sisters, Pinkie Golden (Howard) of Quitman, GA; Rita Winfrey of Newnan, GA; Rounette Henry (Clinton) of Dixie, GA; and Shirley Mark (O.C.) of Quitman, GA; two devoted cousins whom she loved as sisters, Sereather Shaw (James) of Riviera Beach, FL and Ollie Sanders of Dixie, GA; one loving sister-in-law, Evelyn Thomas of Dixie, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember her kindness, laughter, and love.
Celebration of Life Service for Sister Sandra Thomas Adkins will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. James Huewitt, Sr., Eulogist. Internment: Scott Serenity Gardens Cemetery
