It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Ethel Lee Price Stevens.
Sister Ethel Lee Price Stevens (Sister Baby) was born in Leon County on September 8, 1940 to the late Mary Davis Price and Rev. Alphonso James Price, Sr. Ethel was the second oldest of 19 children.
She was married to Arthur Stevens for 64 years. She confessed Christ in 1954 and joined Greater Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church as her home church where she sang in Choir #2. She was educated in the Leon County School system and attended the Old Bond School, Old Lincoln and FAMC High.
Sister Stevens loved singing in the choir next to her husband. Her hobbies were fishing, taking people to appointments, stores and wherever they needed to go. She was employed at Florida State as a domestic worker.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Stevens, three daughters: Shirley (Terry) Harley, Malinda (Jeff) Williams, and Beverly (Alonzo) Gonzalez. One son; Thurman Thumpson. Sisters; Bessie Cennaro, Brunswick, N. J., Evangelist Emma Paremore, Frankie (John) Knight, Eula Peterson, Nedra Maxwell, Jan Peterson and Evelyn Peterson, all of Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion P.B. Church, with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
Viewing will be from 12:00 (Noon) to 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
