Mr. Daniel Simon

Mr. Daniel Simon was born September 12, 1937, in Williston, South Carolina, to the late Frank and Ruby Simon, Sr.
Mr. Simon attend school in Williston, SC, in his younger years. Later he moved to Augusta, Georgia to start his work career.

He worked at Augusta Roofing Company for over thirty years. Then he decided to go into business for himself. Dan started his own business back in the 1980’s when bought out Mr. Eugene Robinson’s roofing company, where he changed the name to Simon Roofing Company.

Mr. Simon was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Essie Mae Simon for 56 wonderful years. Dan joined the Dozen Social and Saving club where he was the treasurer and loyal member. He was also a loyal member of The 25 Gents serving as the chaplain until his health started failing.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Simon Jr., and Willie Marion Simon; one sister, Eunice Williams; one brother-in-law, Carl B. Williams; two sisters-in-law, Lessie M. Simon and Carolyn Simon; and one daughter, Lillie M Rosier.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Freddie Hyde Jr.; daughter, Vanessa A. Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public visitation will be held Friday, November 14, 2025 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 1:00PM at Second Shiloh Baptist Church, 1243 Summer Street, Augusta, GA. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, 120 Watkins Street, Augusta, GA.
