Barbara Ann Thomas Dean was born June 25, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Mazella Thomas. Barbara was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Henry Davenport. She was a retired employee of the Blytheville School District where she worked as secretary.

Barbara was the neighborhood “Candylady” who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, imparting her wisdom and knowledge to each of them in her own special way.

She leaves to cherish love and memories, her husband of 45 years, Stanley Dean of the home, her mother, Mrs. Mazella Thomas Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; one son, Christopher Dean of Port Richey, Florida, her siblings, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, located at 1207 South Division Street in Blytheville, Arkansas, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 noon. Elder Henry Davenport will serve as the officiant.
