Reflection of Life of MSG, Retired U.S. Army Lindsey Wilson, Jr.
Deacon Lindsey Wilson, Jr. was born October 22, 1934, to Lindsey Wilson, Sr. and Mamie Rolle Wilson. He attended D.A. Dorsey High School and Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, FL. He graduated from Washington High School in Cairo, GA.
Deacon Lindsey was drafted into the U.S. Army. He graduated from the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy at West Point in West Point, NY. Upon graduating, he was promoted to Master Sergeant 76Z5K, Chief Logistics N.C.O. He was awarded numerous certificates, credentials, commendations, and awards. He retired after 30 years of service.
He continued his career and went to work for the Millar Elevator Corporation as an Elevator Technician in New York City, NY. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #3. He retired and returned to Miami, FL.
Deacon Lindsey was an active member of the 93rd Street Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Carl Johnson, Sr. He faithfully served as a Deacon, sang in the Male Chorus, and served in the Evangelism Ministry.
In the early 1970s, Lindsey joined the Masonic Fraternity and, after being raised to a Master Mason, he traveled both the York Rite and Scottish Rite sides of the Masonic ladder. On August 3, 2024, he received an honor only afforded to a few, that of becoming Sovereign Grand Inspector General of the Thirty-Third and last degree of Ancient Scottish Rite Freemasonry. He completed his Masonic Journey as a faithful member of the Sons of King James #12, working under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Cypress Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Florida, Inc., where he served faithfully as Past Treasurer of his subordinate Lodge and Grand Lodge. He was also a member of the American Legion and many other organizations. His love of people and commitment to live his values led to many friendships. He treasured the many relationships he built through his work in the Community Church and Lodges.
