Clara Jeanette Dodd was born on February 25, 1957, to the late Mr. Ivory Dotson and Mrs. Lela Harmon Dotson in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was educated in the Tipton Street Elementary and High School and the Kosciusko High School systems. She was baptized at an early age by reverend R.V. Harris at Christian Liberty M.B. Church.
She held several different jobs over the years at KFC and EMD Incorporated in Greenwood, MS. She later moved to Kosciusko, Mississippi, and was employed at Atwood Personal Care. Her last employment was at Tyson Foods in Carthage, MS.
Clara married James Aaron Dodd on August 2, 1975, and to this union three children were born: Lakenda, Terrance, and Eric. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them and their friends. She enjoyed shopping, working in her yard, and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Ivory and Mrs. Lela Dotson, one sister, Annie Jean Dotson, and one son, Mr. Terrence Dodd.
She departed this life on November 14, 2025, at UMMC hospital, surrounded by her family.
Clara leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, LaKenda Dodd of Kosciusko, MS, loving son, Eric (Anne) Dodd of Brandon, MS; 3 grandchildren Joshua Dodd of Horn Lake, MS. Eric Q. Christopher Dodd and Alayah Zollicoffer of Brandon, MS; 4 sisters Mary Nash Dailey, Annie Catherine Fletcher, Wanda Brown and Deborah Nickerson all of Kosciusko, MS a special niece, Sheila Dawson and a close friend, Karen Haynes of Panama Beach, Florida, her favorite grand dog Dallas and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
