Willie Briwder III was born on January 23, 1964, in Memphis, Tennessee. On Thursday, November 6, 2025, he left this world with joy in his heart and God on his mind. At an early age, Willie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. To everyone who knew him, Willie was a friend- he never met a stranger. He worked many years at Commercial Appeal, where he was always willing to lend a hand. Generous to a fault, Willie would gladly give his last dime to a stranger. He was a homebody, Tennessee Titans fan, and loved watching wrestling and drag racing on tv. Some people referred to him as an Angel, but of all the blessings in his life, his greatest treasure was his son D’Angelo, whom he loved deeply. In his final moments, Willie was surrounded by family and friends, laughing, talking, and reminding them of his love. His spirit of kindness and devotion continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Willie was preceded in death by his parents (Willie and Annie Briwder), and his sister (Jacqueline Gordon). He is survived by his son (D’Angelo Briwder, a brother (Chris Briwder), a sister-in-law (Kassandra Briwder), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday November 22, 2025 from 9:00am-10:55am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00am both will be held at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 555 Vance Ave, Memphis, TN 38126.
