Veronica Roxanne Robinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, was born on August 11, 1959, in Birmingham, Alabama. Her journey through life came to a close on November 18, 2025, in Conyers, Georgia. She was 66 years old. Veronica leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her.
Born to Ozie Robinson and Ollie Mae Cole, Veronica was the heart of her family. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Ollie Mae Cole Robinson and Ozie Robinson, her dear brother, Willie W. Cole, and her granddaughter, D'Asia Robinson. Despite the challenges of loss, Veronica remained a pillar of strength for her family, which includes her children: Ozie L. Robinson (Tonia) of Birmingham, AL; Olliendhawntiss Robinson (Hanah) of Jacksonville, FL; and Omni Salter (Byron) of Conyers, GA. Her siblings are Cynthia Jones of Birmingham, AL; Leona Washington of Taylor, MI; Barbara Pollard of Birmingham, AL; Wanda Robinson of Oakland, CA; and James Robinson (Debra) of Birmingham, AL. Also, she leaves her 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Each of them carries her light forward, embodying the love and resilience she instilled in them.
After completing her education at Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Veronica pursued her passion for horticulture, earning an Associate of Science degree in Floriculture from Daytona Beach Community College. This love for plants and flowers mirrored her own vibrant spirit, as she tended her garden with the same care she gave her family.
Throughout her life, Veronica held various positions in customer service, notably at Service Experts and Winn-Dixie in Deland, Florida, until their unfortunate closures in the early 2000s. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her desire to connect with others and provide them with the best service possible.
While Veronica never married, she experienced two profound, life-changing loves in adulthood: Jerinell Webster and Ricky Hughes. The memories and love she shared with them continued to reside in her heart, shaping her understanding of love and companionship.
Veronica was known for her angelic voice, which she shared in the choirs of the churches she attended. Music was a significant part of her life, allowing her to express herself and connect with her faith. When she wasn’t singing, her joy was found in the laughter and company of her beloved grandchildren. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she nurtured her flowers and let her spirit flourish.
As we gather to celebrate Veronica's life, we remember her as a loving matriarch, a gifted singer, and a passionate gardener. Her indomitable spirit and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. Though her physical presence will be missed, her legacy of love and resilience will continue to blossom through her family and friends.
Veronica Roxanne Robinson leaves us with a gentle reminder to cherish our loved ones, pursue our passions, and sing our hearts out as we navigate life's journey. May her soul rest in peace, knowing she has made a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
