The Obituary

Today, we come together to celebrate the homegoing of our beloved Ruth Harvey, born June 27, 1942, to the late William and Kate Harvey in Gadsden, Alabama. We gather to comfort each other in grief and to honor the life that Ruth lived. A life that was full of hope, happiness, laughter, and love regardless of the circumstances.

She loved everybody and had an open door for any and everyone. Throughout her life she worked various jobs. However, in the end she was a dedicated homemaker.

On November 23, 2025, Ruth united with her mother and father; her siblings, Eugene, Willie Mae, Alberta, Milton, Gwen and Geraldine, Jody and Louise and grandson, Jamel Ervin.

Honoring Ruth’s memory and the loved ones left behind are her daughters, Dawn Ervin (Romeo), Faye Harvey (Mike) and Lakisha Harvey (Daniel); son, William Harvey; sister, Lula Rogers (David); grandchildren, Rondu, Tiffany, Jennifer, Jarod, Tarena, Earnest, Joseph, Daiguan, Tyliek, Deontae; several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins

In person condolences and signing of the Register Book will 12 noon -6p.m. Friday, November 28,2025 in the chapel

Celebration of life will be 11 am Saturday, November 29,2025. In the chapel Celebration. Burial Rainbow Memorial Park.
