OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Emmanuel Church of God In Christ, 1816 W. Landry St., Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Lucille Collins, 93, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be held in Green Chapel (Little Teche) Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Bishop Alton Gatlin will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Collins’ memories are being cherished by: her niece, Lucille (Donald) Stelly of Opelousas, LA; nieces, Yvonne Davis of Port Arthur, TX, Mona (Jody) Bob, Pamela Bell, Brenda Coleman of Washington, LA, Keisha (Reggie) Miller of Houston TX, Stephanie Collins of Alexandria, LA, Merlin (Burnell) Times of New Orleans, LA, niece and brother in law, Theresa (Herman) Hunt, Lawtell, LA; nephews, Johnny (Ruthel) Coleman of Lake Charles, LA; David Coleman of Opelousas, LA, Robert Byrd of Baton Rouge, LA and many more nieces and nephews; two God Children, Lois Malveaux of Port Arthur, TX and Otis Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; three children she helped raise, Noblet (Bill) Danks of Wesley, CO and Leslie Davidson, her partner Robins Bryce of Houston, TX, Wilfred (Anna) Barry of Baton Rouge, LA and special cousins Nucie, Sucixy, Marie and Calvin; and a multitude of other cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: three husbands; Frank Alexander, Wilson Hunt and Edward Collins; parents, Benjamin and Ida Raton Coleman; one son, Frank Hunt; seven brothers, Lawrence Malveaux, Willie, Frank, Eddie, Jack, Herman and Benjamin Jr. Coleman; two sisters, Ida Mae Coleman Milburn and Sadie Coleman; the parents of her three children she helped raise, Simmons and Noblet Barry; and so many others.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Emmanuel Church of God In Christ.
