Clafton Murphy Sr.,92, of The Tuscarora Rhems Community of New Bern was called to rest on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Service arrangements are pending at Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church 1696 Tuscarora-Rhems Rd. The interment will follow at the Brown Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Victoreen Murphy of the home; two sons, Cedric Murphy (Pearl), Rocky Mount, NC and Clafton Murphy Jr. (Nora), New York; daughter, Barbara Stewart, Hampton, VA; step-daughter, Lynn V. Lashey, Barbados; brother, Milton Murphy, Greensboro, NC; NC; one sister, Carnetta Clark, New York, NY; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
