Obituary For Sarah Gaines

Nashville - born on August 20th 1959 in New Haven CT to Shell Thomas and Sarah Bernice Thomas her mother's maiden name was Sarah Crawley. She went home to be with the Lord January 17th 2019. Sarah is the fifth born child of seven siblings. Shell Thomas Junior, Clarence Thomas, Sherilla Thomas, Alease Roberson, Jeff Thomas, and Louise Thomas. Sarah married Billy Gaines in 1977. They had three children Rachel (Brian) Hockett, Michael Jason Gaines, and Nathan Gaines, and two beloved grandchildren Olivia and Briley Hockett, as well as several godchildren. Sarah spent most of her life as part of the gospel singing and award-winning duo, Billy and Sarah Gaines. After she raised and homeschooled all of her children, Sarah went back to college and studied early childhood education. She wrote and produced and performed two recording albums, "Ms. Kitty's play place "and "Ms. Kitty's Christmas." Sarah greatly loved children and was a foster parent and ran multiple successful daycares. She was known for her warmth, inward and outward beauty, and her massive love for all who had the opportunity to know her. Sarah's memorial celebration will take place Saturday January 26th 12:30 pm at Born Again Church, 858 West Trinity Lane, Nashville, TN 37207.
