Walter L. Lowe, Sr."Ruff" ,86 of Madison, NC passed Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025, at New Light Refuge Temple, 2441 Bethany Rd. Madison, NC with the Home Going Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment following at Collins Cemetery, Madison, NC.

Public viewing will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Ave., Madison, NC.

Walter Lee Lowe, Sr., affectionately known as “Ruff” was born to the late Willie Andrew and Beatrice Joyner Lowe September 14, 1939. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Ruff attended the former Charles R. Drew School, Madison, N. C. His first love was farming, he loved his tractors and Ford truck, but most of all he loved his hats. Ruff was also employed as a supervisor at Burlington Industries and MacField. Ruff was a faithful member of New Light Refuge Temple where he served as a Deacon until his health declined.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Natasha Collette Lowe.

Left to cherish his memories: his wife; Linda Hayes Lowe of Madison, NC, Children; Bonita Lowe, Michelle Mitchell (Renna), Karen Lowe, Glynis Goolsby (Felix), Walter Lowe (Denise). Sisters; Carolyn Tucker (Jim) and Glenda Cooch. Brothers; Lonnie Lowe and Wayne Lowe (Gloria). Grandchildren; Brandon, Satin, Felix, Shale, Quandara, Trey, Andrew, Chelsea along with 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
