Sherry L. Clayton
October 30, 1967 - December 3, 2025

Sherry peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at her home in Columbus, MS.

Sherry had a personality as big as life and a smile to match. Even as she persevered through numerous health challenges and illness she continued in her faith and hope in Jesus Christ. Whether walking independently, with a walker or being pushed in a wheelchair, she looked forward to entering the sanctuary to fellowship with her church family. Her family was one of her greatest gifts on earth and she was theirs.

Sherry leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters: Erica Clayton and Stacy Clayton of Columbus, MS, and one son, Caleb Deloach also of Columbus. Two brothers: J.D. Clayton, Jr. (Monna) of Fort Worth, TX and Michael Hussey of Kansas. Six sisters: LaShanda D. Lenoir (Howard), Rasheda Burnett, Christal Stark (Julius) all of West Point, MS, Jerra Clayton Hussey and Jamie Harris of Kansas and Terra Sipple of Nevada. Five step-brothers: Kenneth Coleman (Lisa), Rondell Blair (Tonja), Tyrone Blair all of West Point, MS, Tracy Blair of Tampa, FL and Chris Blair (Santel) of Columbus, MS. Three step-sisters: Emma Jones Of Maben, MS; Cheryl Jackson and Tywanna Blair of West Point, MS. She was preceded in death by two brothers (Jerome D. Hussey Clayton and Eric Avery) and two sisters (Carla Avery and RaShena Wright).

Sherry also leaves to cherish her memory ten grandchildren: Sabrionna Gill, Salaija Clayton, Brandon Clayton, Jacarius Clayton, Alise Cooperwood, Marissa Houston, Kera Houston, Kayla Houston, Amari Clayton and Angel Houston and 4 great-grandchildren: KeyTonni Moody, Koulter Clayton, Jahani Porter and Laylyn Parker, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
