Catherine Coates was born in Washington D.C to the late Reverend John Henry Coates and Josie Arbutus Coates on September 27, 1954. Catherine was educated in the D.C public school system. She retired from the Washington Nursing Facility. Catherine, was affectionately known as Cat, Cathy, Sunshine or Grandma Morning. She was called home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2025. She leaves behind 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She has her first great-grandchild on the way.
