He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late, Raymond and Elsie (Stewart) Clark; retired from Norfolk Southern, a member of American Legion Ephraim Slaughter Post #733 and in his leisure, enjoyed fishing & gardening and loved watching tennis matches, especially Serena's.
A. J. leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Mae H. Clark; his children, Akia White, Roberta, Sherry, Willa Mae, A. J., Jr., Lonnie, Priscilla, Shannon and Carmella; his brother, Raymond Clark, Sr.; his sisters, Olive Grant and Betty Spence; his grandchildren, Dmitri and Isaiah Millard; 23 additional grandchildren and a host of great-grands, other relatives and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Thursday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, 2447 Green St., with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
