OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, 217 LA-10, Opelousas, LA for Mr. Sidney Freeman, Jr., 45, who entered eternal rest on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be held in True Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Plaisance, LA.

Pastor Corey Freeman, Pastor of Greater New Hope Baptist Church/Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Freeman’s memories are being cherished by: his father, Sidney Freeman, Sr. of Washington, LA and mother, Anna Pickney of Opelousas, LA; paternal grandmother, Nancy Freeman; two bonus daughters, Emmanuella Lazard and Krysten Joubert; four brothers, Christopher (Danielle) Freeman, Leighton Pickney and Byron Pickney, all of Opelousas, LA and Codairo (Undratta) Freeman of Washington, LA; three sisters, Kandus Tyler (James, Jr.) of Port Barre, LA, Tangy Freeman and Shatonya Freeman, both of Ville Platte, LA; a special friend, Rachel Lazard; bonus grandson, Ezekiel Fontenot; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: one brother, Harold Fitzgerald; stepfather, Harold Pickney; maternal grandparents, Leighton and Lovenia Celestine; and paternal grandfather, Larry Freeman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church.
