Edith Latrenda Wells Baynes

03/10/1968 - 12/25/2025

In the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in nineteen hundred and sixty eight in Valdosta, GA, a baby girl by the name of Edith Latrenda Wells was born to the late Bishop Clarence and Evangelist Gladys Wells.

Edith received Christ at an early age and was raised up in Prayer Temple Holiness Church, where her father was the Pastor.

Edith was educated in the Valdosta City Schools System and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1986. Edith worked various jobs including South Georgia Pecan Factory, Shell Gas Station and Goodwill.

She was a faithful wife to Mr. Johnny Baynes for twenty nine years as well as a loving mother, daughter and grandmother whom all will dearly miss her.

On Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Edith’s residence, God looked around His garden and found an empty place; He then looked down upon the earth and saw Edith’s precious face. He put His arms around her and lifted her unto eternal rest.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Clarence and Evangelist Gladys Wells; her brother, Leon Wells; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fletcher and Clara Baynes.
