Mr. Jasper B. Christian, affectionately known as Bernard, was born on July 25, 1951, in High Point, North Carolina to the late David and Mary Alice Christian. He peacefully transitioned in the early morning hours of Christmas Day, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of love, quiet strength, and cherished memories shared with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, David and Mary Alice Christian, his devoted wife, Mary B. Christian, whom he loved dearly, brothers David Christian, Earl Christian, Gregory Christian and a special aunt Ollie Walden.
Mr. Bernard was a proud graduate of High Point Central High School and remained deeply connected to lifelong friendships, especially with his classmates from William Penn High School, Class of 1968, with whom he greatly enjoyed reminiscing and sharing fellowship. After graduating from High Point Central, he went on to attend High Point College, where he played basketball, reflecting his lifelong love for sports. He also proudly served his country as a veteran of the Army National Guard, carrying out his service with honor and dedication.
Bernard had a deep love for watching sports, especially UNC, playing golf and found joy in listening to music. He was a faithful attendee of Williams Memorial CME Church, where he found spiritual grounding and fellowship. Those who knew him remember his calm spirit, warm presence, and the way he valued connection and companionship.
Bernard leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Anita Christian (Kizzy) of Gibsonville, NC; his sisters, Brenda Thacker (Melvin) of Burlington, NC and Alice Christian of Huntersville, NC; his treasured grandson, Christian Bernard Titus of Gibsonville, NC; and his special friend, Jackie Astrop of High Point, NC. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Though he will be deeply missed, Bernard’s life leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and meaningful relationships that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. His public viewing will be Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and family at his home on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
