Dr. Vilma E. Pessoa of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on December 21, 2025. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 2815 Forbes Drive, Montgomery, Alabama 36110, with Father Manuel Williams officiating. Dr. Pessoa will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, a joyful celebration of life honoring her legacy and Caribbean heritage will be held at Resurrection Catholic School – Gymnasium.
