Wayne Norman Spikes
Funeral service for Wayne Norman Spikes 66, will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11 am at the Anniston Funeral Service Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel where Rev Jeffrey C. Williams, pastor and Rev. Valentino Hall, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mr. Spikes passed away on December 24, 2025 at University of Alabama Hospital, Birmingham.
He was a graduate of Baker High School. He retired from the United States Army after 24 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He also worked 20 years completing various contracts for the Department of Homeland Security in McClellan, AL. Wayne's military decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons include: Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (9th Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, His military education includes: SRT, 1983, DR Sergeant School (X), 1984, BTC (95B), 1985, AASLT Course, 1986, ITC (H), 1987, ANCOC (95B), 1991, Battle Staff (2S), 1994, 1SG Course (M), 2000, MPI (VS), 1981, PLDC, 1982. He attended Players Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife: Regina Spikes; his daughter: Princess Regina Spikes; his siblings: Michael Spikes and Sandy Davis (Jimmy); his in-laws: Margaret Matthew, Patricia Tharpe, Gloria Wright, Saundra Smith (Raymond I), and Elbert Best III (Tabitha); nieces, nephews, his beloved furry grandchildren: Scooby and Bliss, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Helen Spikes.
