Merline Wright was born on June 21, 1943 in the parish of Manchester to Margaret and Leonard Wright.

She attended the Patrick Town Elementary school. She was very industrious and sought to work in sales industry in Mandeville even against the families plans for her in higher education. She migrated to New York where she had a successful career at the Holiday Inn Hotel. On retiring she return to Jamaica where she enjoyed Island retirement until failing health.

She passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019 in Ft Lauderdale Florida.

She leaves behind her husband Wilberforce-affectionately known as Pops, children Anthony and Sandra, son-in-law Joseph, grandchildren-Savannah, Adrian, Brianna; sisters-Caroline, Gerda, Joy, Elice, Eloise, brothers Leonard, Donald; brother-in- law’s, sister-in-law’s, several nieces, nephews, cousins and step- children, and special friends.
