ARNAUDVILLE – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Sandra Barnes, 80, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be held in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Ms. Barnes’ memories are being cherished by: her son, Heath J. (Katherine) Barnes of Thibodaux, LA; one daughter, Nicole Barnes (Travis) of Arnaudville, LA; one sister, Bernadette Lation of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren, Malcolm Barnes and Kathrina Tinson; godchildren, Patricia Lation, Norman Smith III, Tasha Herbert, and Marchetta Tinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Norman and Helen Fernadez Smith; four brothers, Leslie Smith, Sr., Roland Smith, Sr., Irby Smith, and Norman Smith, Jr.; three brothers, Dorothy Charles, Norma Rankins, and Estina Perriat; and one grand daughter, Ariel Barnes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
