Funeral service for Alberta Cannon, 85, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Kenneth Carter, Sr. will officiate.

Mrs. Cannon, who passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 27, 1940, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Mildred Cannon of Columbus, GA, Wanda Cannon, Sylvester (Valerie) Cannon, Margie Cannon, and Charlie David Cannon, Jr. all of Opelika, AL; five grandchildren, Davinesa Reed, Antonio Cannon, Catherine (Donte’) Wilkerson, Jasmine Cannon and Simone Cannon; one brother, Joseph (Sylvia) Beard; one sister, Fannie Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
