Obituary For Mr. John Herny Scott

John Henry Scott, affectionately known to friends and family as “Hen” was born on November 2, 1949 in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late Alford Foy Scott and Eva Thompson Scott.

John attended the public schools of Dillon County, South Carolina and attended the Vocational School where he learned the skill to become a master brick mason. John was known throughout the Carolinas for his work. He was the owner of Scott’s Masonry.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters: Sarah Mitchell, Emma Eaddy, Annie Laura Bethea and one newborn sibling.

John is survived by his wife: Donna Smutherman Scott of Charlotte, NC; his children: Mildred McCall, John Henry Scott Jr, Melanie Scott, Barry Scott, Leeza Scott and Chevelle German; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters: Shirley (Lindsay) Wheeler of Greenville, SC, Linda Scott of Winston Salem, NC; two brothers: James Scott of Winston Salem, NC and David Scott of Dillon, SC; three brothers-n-law: Jesse Smutherman, Phillip Smutherman and Bruce Page; two sisters-n-law: Doretha Page and Deborah Smutherman; two step-daughters: Nikita McGhee and Loveasia Smutherman; mother-n-law: Aretha Smutherman; special friends: Willie and Nora Styles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
