Wallace Turner, Jr.

Wallace was a pillar of the community, a father figure and helped in anyway he possibly could. Wallace Turner, Jr., 74 of Brooks County, Georgia passed from this earthly life on December 19, 2025 in Quitman, Georgia.

Wallace Turner, Jr. was born in Dixie, Georgia on June 1, 1951 to parents Margaret Presley Turner and Wallace Turner, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carolyn Whitfield and his brother Nathan Turner.

At an early age, Wallace was taught to operate farming equipment. Both parents instilled in him and his siblings the importance of labor. Wallace attended Brooks County Elementary School, Washington Street High School and graduated from Brooks County High School in 1971. Wallace moved to Miami, Florida and was employed at Prestressed Systems.

Wallace Turner, Jr. was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Margie Lee Gross on July 22, 1972 and was excited to start their new lives.

In 1976, he moved back to Georgia. He was the owner and operator of Turner’s Lawn Service. He accepted an offer from the owner of West End Milling to join the staff. He was later employed by Brooks Co. Farms for a number of years until officially retiring due to health issues.

He leaves to mourn but cherish his memories, his loving, devoted wife of 53 years Margie Lee Turner; two daughters Armirica and Destiny Hill; three grandchildren Amari Hill- Griffin, Kingston and Royal Moore; four sisters, Katherine and Otis Quinn, Albany, GA, Betty Thornton and Sean Godfrey, Pavo, GA, Helen Turner, Pavo, GA, Maria Griffin, New Jersey; three brothers, Herman and Sylvia Turner, Winston and Gwen Turner, Eric and Samantha Arnold; three special people he held near at heart, James Revels, Americus, GA, Johnny and Fred Revels, Thomasville, GA; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of God in Unity in Quitman with Pastor John Manning officiating. Burial followed at the First Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman.
