Obituary For Mrs. Joyce Ann Ford

Joyce Ann Ford was born on October 13, 1948, in Dillon County, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on February 1, 2019 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina.

She attended the Public Schools of Dillon County and graduated from Gordon High School, class of 1966. Upon graduating high school, she moved to New Jersey along with many other classmates. She resided in New Jersey until 1972 and then relocated back to Dillon, South Carolina. During the mid 1970’s, she received Christ as her personal savior, was baptized in the name of Jesus, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, while attending a tent service in the Riverdale area.

On September 30, 1978, she married the wonderful Willie Ford Jr. Throughout the years, while raising five awesome children, she worked varies occupations. She taught her children the Word of God while making them read and understand it for themselves. She was a woman of strong faith in the Lord and very strong willed until her departure.

She enjoyed traveling to visit family and finding the BEST bargains at flea markets and thrift stores in those locations. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the Dillon County Council on Aging. She loved eating fish every Friday. She was VERY adamant about her kids helping her rearrange her home and doing many chorus she found NECESSARY to be done.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother: Pastor Anna Bell McCall; sisters: Angela McRae and Vanessa McCall; and great grandson Ashton Bethea.

Joyce leaves to cherish her wonderful fond memories ~ her husband: Willie Ford Jr.; five children: Damian (Trisha) McRae of Cleveland, OH, Jamont (Karin) McRae of Dillon, SC, Jared (LaVonna) Ford of Florence, SC, Antwon (Desiree) Ford of Louisville, KY and Candrea Ford of Raleigh, NC; nine grandchildren; two great granddaughters; her father: Luke McCall; three sisters: Fran (Charles) Bruster of Lyman, SC, Pastor Hilda Faye Freeman of Upper Marlboro, MD, Neshia (Ricky) Willis of Columbia, SC; one brother: Ronnie McRae of Baltimore, MD; mother-n-law: Edith Townsend of Raleigh, NC; in-laws: Judy (Dean) Fuller, Mildred (Charles) Brown both of Bennettsville, SC, Lawrence (Brenda) Ford of Blenheim, SC, Brenda (James) Lambert of Raleigh, NC, and Laura (Lad) Isaiah of Raleigh, NC; two special cousins: Gracie Elaine (Johnny) Williamson of Mullins, SC and Mary (John) Leach of Dillon, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
