Iakeem Reid, 29, son of Mr. Bruce Reid and the late Ms. Betty Ann Thomas, was born October 15, 1996, in Lee County, Alabama.

“Keem”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was a kind hearted person, who graduated from Smith Station High School Class of 2015. After graduation, he entered Job Corp and received forklift driver training. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the gun range and caring for his pet dog “Bo”. He loved being around his family, which mattered most to him in life.

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, he departed this life at Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Tashyrah Reid.

He leaves to cherish his memory: father, Bruce Reid of Auburn, AL; six sisters, Charmetta (Bryan) Hutchinson, Brukette Reid both of Opelika, AL, Takia Reid, Brittany Oliver, Mya Oliver and Avanity Reid all of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Taqevious Thomas of Opelika, AL and Shug Moore of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
